Quilt Market recovery 101

So, I have good intentions….I mean really good intentions!  I intended on blogging this whole week.  Giving you the ‘Quilt Market” hook up….it just didn’t happen.  And, I am sorry!  Life gets in the way sometimes, you know.

We are knee deep in expansion remodel over here. It is wonderful and hectic all at the same time!  (don’t worry I will be posting pics as we finish things up)

Okay, I know I have mentioned this already…..BUT Heather Bailey’s booth was A-MAZING!  I loved the colors and the ‘feel’ of the whole thing.  And check out that dress….it was marvelous.

Trip-1Here is a little peak into a few of the Moda designers!!  Aren’t we just so lucky to have this amazing fabric to look forward to?  Boy, I can hardly stand it.

quilt marketLook close and you will see some Sandy Gervais, some Howard Marcus, Me and my Sister…..and uh, Me and my sisters and my Mom!  Hahah.  🙂  I love them.  ALL of them.  Have I said that already?  These designers are amazing…..so creative.  And they really know how to put this stuff together so you’ll want to buy it all!

Well, I  do have a ton more to show you.  Some celebrity sightings.  And luscious new stuff.  (oh and videos…..LOT’S of videos!)  Stay tuned.  It will happen.  {I swear}  🙂

My stack list of things to do today:

weed my flower bed, for one last time.

mow my yard

make cinnamon rolls

laundry

clean the house

start on a few Christmas gifts  (you know, of the quilting variety)

Do you ever feel completely over whelmed with what is on your ‘list’ ???  Today I am actually grateful that I have these things to do, cause that just means I am a blessed person.  (right….trying to keep perspective, here!)

This week is full of great things I want to share with you.  We got some new things in….the new Civil War Home front Charm packs, Layer cakes and Jelly rolls, (plus lots more new in!!!)  we finished the April Cornell honey bun quilt (just waiting to bind it now) and working on rearranging some things in the shop.  All fun things to share…

Now, I must get to work on that list….then on to the others!  Cause, let’s be honest….the other things are WAY more fun!

Are you a list person?

Keep ’em coming!

Hey all!

We’ve received so much great feedback about the Quilt-A-Thon for Quilts 4 Kids coming up on October 24th. Thank you so much for all the support, it truly is a GREAT cause. In case some of you newer quilters (ahem…like me) are feeling a bit shy, I thought I’d link to some super simple free patterns that are PERFECT for what we’re looking for. So here you go….

Also, check out our tutorials for some great  ideas. Remember to use up your scraps, keep it simple, and fill these quilts with love!

If you get a chance, we’d love for you to share your tops with us in the forum. Here’s a quilt top that toggpine, one of our members, put up. Isn’t it great!?

Thanks again everyone! Don’t forget that if you’re out of town you still have time to mail in your tops to us.  As for everyone else, we’ll see you in the shop!

Anna Maria Horner and Heather Bailey…*be still my heart*

Man, us girls had a blast at Market…..Just imagine a ton of people together sharing a common love for something.  Ahh, wouldn’t the world be a better place if we all quilted? (and loved fabric??)  Teeheeheh, I know not that funny….but really.  It was pretty cool to get to be with so many in the industry, hoping beyond hope that some of their creativity would rub off on you!  (that was me anyway.)

We had so much fun talking with the designers and hearing about all the things that inspire them…..the new fabric.  Oh, the new fabric.  It was Heaven I tell you.  Heather Bailey, literally made my heart skip a beat.  Her booth was amazing.  Her fabric line was AMAZING….shoot, she is just one creative power house! I had to buy her line.  It is called Nicey Jane.  (named after her husbands Great Aunt (?) I think) She has a few new patterns coming out as well!  (So cute)  And we are making a big order of her felt.  The colors are delicious!  Not sure if you know this, but Westminster is going to be selling their stuff in the pre-cuts.  SO exciting!  Don’t worry…  I stocked up on it, so you will be sure to get what you need!

Oh, and Anna Maria Horner…..can I just say WOW.  She is gorgeous.  I mean, beyond beautiful….her baby is a sweetie too! 🙂  Her fabric this time was beautiful Voile’s and Dobby Dots.  More for dresses and things, but it is gorgeous.  If you are a seamstress it will be divine to work with!  It is so soft and light….It would also make a gorgeous lighter quilt.  Really, you just have to touch this stuff.

I have so much more to tell you about.  I have pictures and videos (like a million)  and I can’t wait to show you everything!

Market, Market….

Oh man, we had so much fun.  So much amazing ‘eye’ candy and great new things coming out this year!  We are excited about so many new lines of fabric that we could literally scream!  🙂

I have a ton of pictures still to share with you (and some video) but have had a computer malfunction…..(dang computers! )  So the pics will have to wait….only for a while. 🙂

I just wanted to get on here to let you know that some of the ‘good’ stuff will be coming later today!  Have a good morning all, and I will see you later!
