This Saturday while I was Whawhahwha all alone at the Shop, I cut some strips and started on making a few nine patches!  (if you need a tutorial , click over to our tutorials page, Jenny has a nice video with easy instructions!)  We got this adorable baby  owl fabric in a while ago (Timeless Treasures) and I have been dying to make something with it ever since!

Here is my attempt at a Baby Boy Quilt!!  I put a nine patch and a solid, every other one.  Did a 2 1/2 ” mini border, then a 6″ outer border!  I love it.  What do you think?!?!!?

Of course it is now in line to be quilted, but I couldn’t wait to show you!  I had so much fun putting it together….and can I just say that I might love nine patches almost as much as I love pinwheels!?  (shhh, I am still a tad bit unsure of that last statement)

Anyway…..have you guys been checking out all the Quilt Market updates!?!?!  It looks like everyone had such a blast!!  I almost decided last minute to go…..but had to be to here to run the shop while Natalie and Mom Jenny went to the Machine Quilter’s Showcase.  We will SO be there at the next one in Houston!!  Honestly, we are counting down the days!  (Natalie wants to go so bad, she may or may not be making a paper chain to hang in the shop, as a countdown!!)  🙂

*this afternoon Mom Jenny goes in for surgery on her leg.  They are going to do a bone graft and put a plate in it to hold it together.  Send good, healing, happy thoughts her way if you can!  🙂  Thanks!

I saw these necklaces  while blog stalking surfing the web and wanted to share them with you!  Peptogirl is the woman behind this great Indie business and creator of some super cute crafty stuff!!  This blue one is my favorite…..But honestly I am smitten by them all!!

Really, who wouldn’t want an adorable necklace like that!?!?  It is screaming “yeah, I am crafty and I make crafty look GOOD!!”

Here’s hoping for an amazing weekend for you all!  I will be running the shop alone today…..Natalie and Jenny (aka Mama) are at a Quilt  no fair, I am so jealous show taking some quilt classes….

Things are good.  Really good.  We are gearing up for some pretty fun things around here.  Lots and lots to do.  But we will keep you posted on our progress….Promise!

We have a great quilt-along happening in our forums! It is a log cabin quilt using three different log cabin block styles. You make seven of each block and end up with a gorgeous lap size quilt! I am having so much fun with this and learning so much!  You can still join us anytime. and the dream was to have a quilt with mermaids on it.

One day my little lady was having a rough day.  She was on her bed crying so I went in to see what was wrong and through her tears we started talking.  I had just painted her room a bright blue and I mentioned to her that the walls looked like the ocean.  She loved the thought of that, and it was just enough to distract her.  I asked her what she wanted to do to finish decorating her room and she was all talk from then on out…..She decided on” mermaids and rainbows….lots of colors,  Mom.”

I had to inlist the Grama (of course) to make this little gals dream a reality…..  Grama worked and worked and the finish product is this:

It is huge!!  Little Lady loves it!  Luckily she is understanding while it hangs in the Shop for display!  🙂  Grama made her a pillow case she has in her room now, and she can visit the quilt at the Shop!

Dreams do come true…..thank you Grama Jenny.

Now, if they had only had fabric with New Kids on the Block when I was a kid.  That would have been a dream maker right there!  🙂
