UPDATE—————————– A little help here

If you are implementing a blinkie into a Blogger blog, just login to your account, then click on the layout tab and get to the section that shows your “Page Elements” and on that page you should see an outline of how your page is layed out.  On the right (or the left in some cases) you will have everything in your sidebar.  A block for Archive, or picture, or followers, etc.  At the top of that sidebar is a block that says “Add a Gadget” and if you click that, it will pop up with a window to help you add a gadget.  If you choose the “HTML/JavaScript” block, you can then just paste the ‘code’ that is in the post into the content section.  Give it a title (Missouri Star Quilt Company is loved by me! or something like that 🙂 hit ‘SAVE’ and bam, you’re done!

Hope that’s not too confusing.  Good luck!

Bloom!

Hey Ladies the pics I linked at the end are actually posted in the Forum now…

Go take a look 🙂

This is what I’m working on bloomit’s Bloom by thimble blossoms 🙂

I’m pretty excited!  This is what it looks like so far…My bloom uncut I’m going to have it finished and in the shop to be quilted this weekend! Hurray! I’m using Soiree by Lila Tueller , Loft 1800 and Full Moon Forest in green(sold in the shop). I know the pics are horrible it’s done with my phone I’m still waiting to get my camera back from the repair shop 🙁  But all those little charm pack blocks laid out on the side there are going to be the cute little polka dots.  flower appliqueHere’s a closer shot of the big flower and the colors I’m thinking of using for the little flowers to be appliqued around it 🙂  So cute!
OK I know it’s rough right now but I’ll have the girls take a picture while I’m in the shop so don’t diss it too much yet.
I’m finding I love the applique stuff! The quilt’s not ready obviously but I just love the colors and I thought I’d show you were I was!

I’m working up a couple other things, I’m gonna run by the girls and you when they’re ready 🙂 We all love a little feed back!

See more pics in the forum!

Wish me luck!!!

One of those days….

you know the kind.  When The kids won’t stop fighting.  When The sun won’t come out.  When every project you start you mess up.

Well, the only cure I know for that is a good old fashion purse shopping (or fabric shopping or pattern shopping or chocolate shopping)  What, you don’t devote whole shopping trips to chocolate?  Can we even be friends anymore?  🙂

Anyway, I found this purse. (yes, it is Sandi Henderson fabric…..yes, it is oil cloth. Yes, it is HUGE and  NO I won’t give it to you!)   I fell in love.  I brought it home.  And I feel better!  🙂

The Amazing Dissapearing Nine Patch!

p2200001I was browsing the web recently and found a tutorial on line for the “Disappearing Nine Patch”!  I just had to try it…and guess what..?? It works and it is so easy! It makes you feel like a million bucks!

For this project I used one Hello Betty Charm Pack.

The first thing you do is lay them all out and organize them into nine patches. Traditionally, the nine patch has five darks and four lights. I just matched up squares I thought would look good together, sewed them together and I think it turned out really nice.

Next you take your rotary cutter and cut your nine patch in half, then in half again….and you will have this….

p2200002p2200003Now you can turn your squares…and there you have it…the disappearing nine patch!  Be creative…you can do this any way you want to. There are several different ways to lay this out. I will be trying different patterns and will post them when they are ready! So here’s the layout we finally decided on for this quilt….p2200016I am adding borders and will show you a picture of that when I am done, and before I quilt it!!

Can I just say that I LOVE this quilt!  It looks like a ton of work, but it isn’t!!
