All the way from Mexico City, Mexico.

The real Mexico-Mexico.  NOT to be confused with, Mexico MO, or Mexico Texas.  Hahahah!!!  Our guests who came the farthest were, Carmen and her husband Aldo.  This trip was a birthday gift to Carmen.

Here is a picture with Natalie, Mom {Jenny} Carmen and I.  We all just had such a good time getting to know Carmen and Aldo.  They were so sweet.  They brought gifts for us and for our kids.  They were funny and kind.

Carmen, thank you.  It was such a pleasure to meet you.

And Aldo…Thank you for bringing your sweet wife to ‘Hamilton’ where the GPS doesn’t work and you have to explain to your friends WHY you came here. Hahahaha!!!

It was really a joy to meet you both!  Can hardly wait for you to return!

To hear more about the Bus Trip check out the forums, Sandy has a great post and has added pictures to her album!

To all of you that came:  YOU are the best!  Thank you all for making the trip amazing and fun.  A lot of you came from a far and we appreciate your sacrifice as well!  Thank you- thank you!  I can’t wait till next year!!!

BUS Trip 2011 the aftermath…

Oh boy, was it a FUN weekend!  Our bus full of ladies (and one Aldo, *wink-wink)  left early (6:30am) I could hardly wait to get to the shop to meet everyone.  We had friends from the forums and friends from Florida and even some friends from Mexico City!

Everyone was so excited and happy, that it just added to all of the suspense that is ‘8 buses’!!  LOL

We really did just have the best time!  It was so fun to meet and visit with all of the people from the different Shops and areas.  We had a great time teasing and helping each other.  I am constantly impressed by ‘quilters’ in general.  They are a kind, fun, honest group of people.  Am I right?  I still haven’t met a quilter I didn’t like!

I’m not gonna lie…..We were EXHAUSTED by the end of Friday!  (thinking, we have to do this all over again!??!)  It was also oddly, energizing! (I loved it)  We had the crazy idea that each bus that left, we would go out and wave goodbye.  Well, we would get a little crazy- doing things like the ‘wave’ and jumping in the air.  It was one of my favorite things!  (I just hope we didn’t leave a bad impression)  Hahahah!

If you went on the trip….did you love it?

What was your favorite part?

Would you do it again?

Oh, and did you miss me?

LOL, back with more tomorrow!

Have a great day.  (I’m sending my oldest off to camp today. sniff-sniff)

Bus Trip 2011

I can NOT hide my excitement over our first ever Bus Trip!  Our amazing Carolyn headed the whole thing.  She talked other shops into joining and put together a fabulous route!  We are beyond (scared) thrilled and are ready for the craziness that is, 8 buses of 45-50 quilters over two days!!  LOL!  Can you even imagine!?

So, to get ready for all this fun we decided we needed a little something for the outside of the building.  I know you have all followed along as I’ve led you through most of our progress.  We haven’t gotten as much done outside as I would like to, but we are working on it.

A little background:  Our building is OLD.  It used to be an Antique shop and before that is was originally a car dealership.  It had more beautiful brick buildings beside it that have burned and been torn down.  So our building is all alone (kinda ugly, in the sense that it is long-rectangular with a flat roof and ugly.)  LOL

Isn’t it cool? I love how it looked in it’s prime!!

Anyway, it still charms me. 🙂  But obviously we have some work to do.  So this past weekend, we put up a giant-very awesome-I couldn’t be happier- MISSOURI STAR sign!  We painted it in our signature BRIGHT colors, so there will be no missing our store! Hahaha!

Wow! Isn’t that great!?

Come see it in person if you are close.  (do you think it’s too much?)   Haha!

Well, I am ready for anything this weekend  ( i hope).  We have kits cut and lots of new things since Market.  Can’t wait to show them all off!

Have a great weekend.  I’ll have lots to share, on Monday!

Sew and Tell, some more!

Well, did you all have a great Holiday weekend?  We sure did.  Family barbeque’s and lots of work.  We had some fun stuff planned for the Shop and I’m happy to report that I LOVE it and can’t wait to show you what we did!!!  🙂

But, today I wanted to share some amazing quilts that Alison from California sent me.  This is what she said in her email:

Hi Missouri Star Quilt Company!
I wanted to share a few projects that I have made from your products.
I have the Dresden Plate, tumbler and hexagon template and love them all.
On the tumbler quilt, I used your quilt-as-you-go method and quilted each
strip as I went along.
Thank you for all the fabric and instruction videos that you have.
Having fun quilting in California!!!
Alison”

Here are her BEAUTIFUL quilts…
