Domestic Diva…and a tutorial.

I’ve had several emails about a tutorial we did almost two years ago.  So I thought I would put it  back up here for you all to enjoy!

Mom (Jenny) just made a new one for the Shop, using the ‘Domestic Diva’ line from Riley Blake.  I love how it turned out and think you will too. {Who am I kidding, this pattern looks cute in any fabric.}

Grab a charm pack and get a table runner done today!  Yup, absolutely FINISHED in one day!  A miracle,  I think so.

GO HERE for the tutorial. Sew and enjoy!

I hope you have the BEST day ever.

If you are gonna cook- do it CUTE. (and a giveaway)

You know, that’s my motto.  Whatever you have to do, make the best of the situation…..and we all know that cooking and cleaning  need some serious help in that department.  So why not make yourself look good in the process.  (a cute apron can change a bad attitude in a jiffy)

That is why this Holiday season we are sporting these ultra cute, reversible Christmas aprons.  Oh, Riley Blake…how I love thee.

Now, look really close at that pocket….I know.  How darling is that mini pom-pom trim.  Cuteness overload, huh.

How about this:

I will give you that apron.  All you have to do, is tell your friends about us….blog about it or tag us on facebook  and you will be entered to WIN!  Leave me a comment, on this post (tell me what you did) and I will pick a winner on Wednesday the 23rd.

Good luck ya’ll.

Abby’s Treasure box…..

Ok, you all know how we love easy and quick with BIG results, right!?  Well, that is exactly what you get with this pattern.  It is called Abby’s Treasure box, from This and That. (Sherri Falls)

Abby’s Treasure Box, made with Riley Blake Fabric scraps!

I think it is a perfect thing for a Christmas gift!  Easy to put together….so easy in fact you’ll want to make more!  🙂  One of our ‘regulars’ in the shop has been making them for her grandchildren.  So, if you are still looking for some last minute gift fillers, this would be perfect!  (plus, you can use up more of your stash, or a charm pack!)  Have you tried this pattern? I’d love to know your take on it?  Did you love it too?  Do tell.

Be Merry….Ok, I think I will.

Just finished (except for binding- sorry I just couldn’t wait to show you this quilt) is this darling and I DO mean darling quilt we made using the “Be Merry” line from Riley Blake.  To say that I LOVE it would be an understatement!  Seriously, this fabric is just so unique and cute and fun….we did add a few other lines to round out the effect and I am quite pleased with it!  We got the free pattern here.  The cool thing about this pattern is that the trees are 3-D.  The quilting was a little tricky, but it was no match for Natalie!  (she handled it perfectly)  Quilting it in an all over mitten design!

shop stuff 1011So, what do you think??  You wanna make one?  Heck, it is a free pattern.  If you are interested in a kit email me and I will see what I can do!  🙂

Have a great day!  I know I will!

Playing with scraps…

ctjhvjhg1I am sure that you all have a few thousand pounds of scraps in your stash.  Those beloved bits of your favorite fabric….you know what I am talking about, right!?   (We used Riley Blake, April Cornell, American Jane, Tula Pink and other various scraps.)

Well, we decided to make some cute little clips with the fabric covered buttons.  We made ponytail holders and snap clips (barrettes) and we just love them!  They are perfect to brighten any outfit! And perfect for those small pieces of your favorite fabric,  you just can’t throw away!

It was a lovely weekend.  How was yours?

FYI:  this is a very addictive project.  You will not be able to stop.  I swear.  But, since Christmas is right around the corner…..You’ll have the perfect excuse.    How cute would they be all wrapped up as gifts!??!  Oh my.  Now I am in real trouble.
