Winter Wonderland Scavenger Hunt On Now!

Interested in winning some really, really awesome prizes???  If you’re a Facebook user you can!  Up for grabs are three amazing prizes:

1)      A Fabric Lover’s Gift Basket from the Missouri Star Quilt Co. ($500 value)

2)      A Prize package of books and magazine subscriptions from Where Women Create ($395 value)

All you have to do to enter is collect clues by “liking” (clicking the “Like” button with the thumbs up icon) the MSQC Quilting Deals Facebook page, AccuQuilt Facebook page, and Where Women Create Facebook page.  Every time you “like” one of these pages a clue will be revealed.  Once you have collected all three clues, go to https://www.accuquilt.com/wonderland to submit them.  This webpage also contains the full contest details.  You have until midnight of January 30th, 2012 to enter.  Winners will be notified by e-mail on January 31st.  *Note – if you have already liked any of these Facebook pages, the clues will be visible without doing anything on the page you have already liked!

 

 

There will be three different winners, with the grand prize being the Fabric lover’s Gift Basket from MSQC, second prize – the package from Where Women Create, and the AccuQuilt Go Baby Fabric Cutter as third prize.

The Valentines winner:

Oh man, there were so many fun and entertaining Valentines stories!!  You all certainly kept me entertained this week! I was laughing out loud at some and sad at others, while a few were just heart-melting!  Ahh, love. Isn’t it just grand?

On to the Winners!!!  For the layer cake:

  • Valentine is a good day when I make giant heart shaped sugar cookies for my students to decorate at school. They love it and it’s fun to watch them.

      I totally forgot! When I was quite young there was this little red-haired and freckled boy named Neil Burger who had a major crush on me. He came to our door and delivered to me this amazing pink, ruffled heart-shaped box of candy. I was so horrified and embarassed by the whole thing I took the box and shut the door in his face. My mother was, of course, furious at my behavior! I still have that box in my memorabilia. I’m sixty so I imagine that box is around 50 years old. If he only knew I’d kept it all these years, maybe it would make up for my incredible rudeness. I am assuming my mom made me call and apoligize. I really can’t remember how it played out and Mom is no longer with me to fill me in on the details. I wonder what Neil Burger is doing these days. Hopefully he has a sweetheart who treats him well and loves him lots.

11 days left to get your entry into the IRON QUILTER contest!

Just a quick reminder that you have 11days left to email a picture of your Iron Quilter submission.  The entries are so fun to see!  It is going to be incredibly hard to pick a winner.  Luckily you guys have to do that!!  I love them all.  🙂

We are so thrilled with the response and hope to make this an annual, or maybe even semi-annual event! YAY!  Sew away, and finish that top so you can be included!  It will be a blast.

Giveaway: New Patterns in the Shop!

Today I am thrilled to show you some new patterns we have in the Shop.

Shea, from Empty Bobbin Sewing Studio has designed these way cute patterns!  We have two different patterns of hers in stock, and I just know you are gonna love them!

Shea is a local (to us)  well, at least her Hometown is local.  She has moved far away for a time, and is planning on returning. (another thing we have in common!)  Shea and I got to meet in real life at Market.  She had been in the Shop before and got to hang out with Mom and Natalie, but I was always gone.  I just had a great time getting to know her and love everything she has done.  I love the colors she puts together and her patterns are gorgeous.

When I saw the Playhouse Pattern, I knew we needed it in the Shop ASAP! Little Sis Hillary to my rescue.  {I’m so lucky to have her.  She whipped this playhouse up in just a few days-between designing and sewing a wedding dress. I’m NOT kidding!}  She is just that good.

When I put it up, my almost 7 year old played for a good 3  hours inside of it.  I’d say it was a hit, for sure!  🙂

We are still working on a Shop Sample of the adorable ‘Seeing Squares pattern’ Shea even made us our very own- exclusive to MSQC-  colorway.  I can’t wait to show you!
