When I was a child, my grandparents gave me a brand new stuffed bunny for my birthday. He was white with blue and purple ears and thus, I named him Jelly Bean. For many years, he was my good friend. We read bedtime stories, snuggled together for movies, and hosted the best tea parties.
As I grew older, I played with him less and eventually stored him away. Today, Jelly Bean sits on a shelf in the back corner of my closet, but I still hold his memories dear and I cannot bring myself to get rid of him.
Create that same imaginative bond for a special child in your life! We have over forty Funky Friends to choose from so you’re sure to find their favorite animal! Personalize it to their tastes with realistic colors or fanciful prints! Use cuddle, flannel, or cotton for a cuddly touch and to make it even more special, add some embroidery!
If you are needing some ideas of where to get started, here are a few of our favorite Funky Friends and fabrics to make them with:
Friends are like fabric. You can never have enough! Okay, so maybe we should add that as much as we love fabric, it should not replace our friends! Just put the two together and you can quilt and shop for fabric WITH your friends! 🙂 Get this week’s printable and display it in your sewing room as a reminder that you can sew with friends! And take them with you to buy some new fabric because you really never can have enough! 😀
I just had to get a picture (or4) to show you how much fun we have at our Friday night sew!! We all get together, working on whatever project we need to finish and hang out. Eat. Tell jokes. Help each other. Eat. Have fun. Oh did I mention that we sew a little too. (and eat) 🙂 We all bring a snack to share and these ladies DO NOT disappoint!! We have had to ask for recipes for most of the things brought in! I am thinking we should publish the quilters Friday night sew recipe book!! Wouldn’t that be fun!??! Even Mom braved it…..She just wouldn’t stay home knowing we were all having fun. Anyway, I hope you are all crazy busy quilting. We have some great things coming down the pipe-line. (you know, that virtual-web-Internet pipeline) 🙂
