Easy one Charm Pack Quilt

Here at MSQC we are all about the easy, quick quilts.  You know, something to get you either through a slump, or an idea for a quick gift.  And this is a perfect example of just that.

Cute little Baby quilt!

For this specific quilt we used one Panache  charm pack and some matching fabric for the borders. Sew the squares into strips and  attach them in rows.  (best part:  NO CUTTING!!)   Then we used the amazing scallops, waves and vines ruler (another favorite) and did a little wavy border.  I think this turned out to be a perfect gift for a baby shower and it won’t take you  a year to make!  (well, unless you put it away after an hour or so and lose the whole project….in that vast dark  hole we lovingly call ‘the sewing’ room)  You know what I mean.  🙂

Just thought I’d share an easy and quick little project.

Enjoy.

*ps.  Don’t forget to answer my question in the forums for your chance to win a charm pack!!  Free fabric every week! Yay!

Be Merry….Ok, I think I will.

Just finished (except for binding- sorry I just couldn’t wait to show you this quilt) is this darling and I DO mean darling quilt we made using the “Be Merry” line from Riley Blake.  To say that I LOVE it would be an understatement!  Seriously, this fabric is just so unique and cute and fun….we did add a few other lines to round out the effect and I am quite pleased with it!  We got the free pattern here.  The cool thing about this pattern is that the trees are 3-D.  The quilting was a little tricky, but it was no match for Natalie!  (she handled it perfectly)  Quilting it in an all over mitten design!

shop stuff 1011So, what do you think??  You wanna make one?  Heck, it is a free pattern.  If you are interested in a kit email me and I will see what I can do!  🙂

Have a great day!  I know I will!

Halloween…{aka finally coming off sugar}

Our Halloween was wonderful.  Full of goodies and goblins.  We were fairly busy in the shop ALL day, and I still had to pull the Babies costume together!

Since we all know Mom (Jenny)  can work wonders, we whipped it out in NO time at all!  We had a great weekend and we are still feeling the effects of the sugar rush!  🙂

Here are my Goblins:

Halloween 1My Mom has always come to my rescue when it comes to costumes.  She put together the apron for the ‘Dorothy’ costume also.  (thanks Mom)

So, did you have homemade elements to your costumes or do you buy them all.  I’d love to know.

We have been planning for this day for quite a while…..and to say we were a bit nervous might be an understatement. (okay, mostly I was nervous….Mom can and will talk to anyone, anytime about anything!!)   We were very excited also, and couldn’t wait to share our ideas with such a big group.

We had a fabulous group of Women most from the Saint Louis, Missouri area and enjoyed visiting with them and getting to know them a bit.

They learned, they shopped and we all had a great time!

I hope you Girls have a blast at the Quilt Show in Iowa!   Can’t wait to see you again.
