Valentines Day giveaway and a little about what’s going on with us!

Valentines Day giveaway and a little about what’s going on with us!

With Valentines just around the corner, I thought we should giveaway some beautiful Valentine’s fabric!  As some of you know, we are giving a layer cake away on Facebook and I thought, heck, why don’t we offer something even better right here on the blog!  SO … I am going to giveaway a layer cake AND a jelly roll from the same cute Happy Hearts line by Adornit!

So, just like on Facebook, to enter all you have to do is leave a comment and tell us about your most special or worst Valentines Day.  I’m sure enjoying reading all the Facebook comments and can relate to so many – I can’t wait to see what you guys have to say!

Anyway, things here at MSQC are crazier than ever.  LIFE.  Whew, it can sure be exhausting!  I just want to tell you all how incredibly grateful we are for you and your continued support.  You might have noticed that our site’s been having issues.  Although most are not affected by these issues, some have had a really tough time browsing our site and even checking out.  Since we are a family business, working hard to grow and offer you more and more, we don’t exactly have extensive IT Department.  In fact, our IT department consists of little brother Al (he’s still little to me, even though he’s 6.7″).  Really, he is a one man show on the tech side of our business.  He has had many sleepless nights, and we love him for that.  After we switched servers to make things better, we had some lost code issues, the fix for which has been like finding a needle in a hay stack – fun stuff (I hope you sense my extreme sarcasm)!  We hope that things will be running flawlessly soon and that you will all have a wonderful experience browsing our site.  Despite the problems, for the most part, things are much better, faster and we can handle more traffic.  Please rest assured that we are working diligently to get all the ‘bugs’ worked out.  Our intentions are only to have a better site that will offer you all more.

Most of you have been amazingly patient!  And we thank you for that.  If you do have an issue please, oh please email us info@missouriquiltco.com or give us a call.  We want to help you in any way that we can.  If you must leave a message we will call you back!              888 571 1122

Back to the giveaway, please do tell us about your funny-awesome-horrific Valentines experiences!  I can’t wait to read them all!  I’ll pick two winners via random.org on Wednesday night and announce it Thursday!

We were living in India at the time, for my husband’s work, although he was my boyfriend then….I managed to find some cream cheese in a shop somewhere and made Chris a cheesecake for Valentines day – his favorite.  Then after dinner, when we were sitting on the sofa watching the Bay (Mumbai) he asked me to marry him!! Pretty wonderful Valentines.  That was 5 years ago.  Last Valentines, I got a kiss! Men…..

My husband and I eloped on Valentine’s Day.  He had proposed to me in December on the day of my college graduation.  I said yes, of course and then we decided that since we had family scattered all over the United States and Italy, that we would just elope and get married with two close friends as our witnesses as it would be hard to get everyone together. We didn’t want to leave anyone out so the decision was made to just get married on our own.  So my family knew we were engaged but that we had not set a date (that they knew about at least).

On Valentine’s Day, I sent my family a dozen roses with a note. Happy Valentine’s Day from Mr & Mrs Young (with the time) 6:00 pm.  Love Mary”.  Well, the roses arrived early in the day and my mom didn’t think too much about the note just thinking the flowers were from me. My younger sister came home from school, read the note and said to my mom, “Oh my gosh, Mary and Bill are getting married tonight at 6:00!”  My mom said, “What???” and my sister pointed out the note.  She totally got it!  My mom was mad at me for a while for eloping, my dad thought it was “cool”.  Anyway, that was 33 years ago.  We get to celebrate our love and anniversary each year with thousands of people around the world.  And, my husband never forgets our anniversary!

My mother knew I loved horses, so she bought me this reddish brown stuffed animal horse.  Of course I named it Valentine!

All my Valentine’s days are wonderful. My husband knows I don’t care for flowers because they die so soon, so I told him years ago that the best gift he could give me would be to let me go online and buy some quilt item. Well, he loved the idea. He didn’t have to run around and find something for me. So now, on Valentine’s Day, I spend a couple of hours online shopping the web for a quilt kit or a new notion or a stack of FQs. I even got him to let me order quilt kits online for my Christmas presents. When they come in the mail, he just wraps them up and puts them under the tree. What more could I want? Jeanne
