The Story of Us on Turning Point

The Story of Us on Turning Point

It’s hard to believe that our story started back in 2008 (nearly 8 years ago). We’ve grown as people, as quilters, as a community and as a company in so many ways since then. It’s been an amazing journey and we are so lucky to have you all by our side through it all.

A few months ago we were lucky enough to have the BYU TV film crew come to the small town of Hamilton, MO to film a Turning Point feature on Missouri Star Quilt Co. and the full story of how we came to be. We hope you enjoy watching the feature below and feel a bit more like family after doing so.

  • We love your story, Carol! Thank you so much for all you do to “spread the love.” 🙂 We’re so glad we get to be a part of that.

  • We hope you can come visit us soon, Tracy! 🙂

  • Thank you so much for your comment, Diane! We’re so happy that you’ve enjoyed your experience with us. 🙂

  • Elaine

Awesome story! The Doan family has truly been blessed & in turn they have blessed their town & millions of new quilters like myself. I have taught myself to make beautiful quilts by watching your videos. (which I found my accident on youtube!) I am hooked & its all thanks to you Jenny! Thank you & God bless you for what you do!

  • Debra Walery Sheffield

After a “two-years-in-the-planning” trip to MSQC and attending Jenny’s Trunk Show on June 26, I am SO thrilled to be able to watch (and share!) “The Story of Us”. And, exactly as I thought – I’m in tears – again. Thank you, Jenny, and your amazing family, for what you’re helping ALL of us do! When a sweet 10 year old orphan in Uganda received my quilt two years ago, made with fabrics from MSQC, I thought I was still “just sewing”…now I realize it’s so much more than that. You are an inspiration, and I’m forever grateful to have been able to see you and experience your wonderful transformation of Hamilton!

  • Wow! What a wonderful, generous heart you have, Debra. I’m sure Agirat treasures the quilt you made. We can’t wait to see you, and we love what you’ve done to help spread the love. Keep up the good work, and happy quilting! 🙂

  • How wonderful! We’re so glad you’ve gotten “hooked” Elaine, and that you can enjoy quilting along with us. Thank you, and happy quilting! 🙂

  • Benette McNeill

Jenny and family. I just read your story on Turning Point. All that I want to say I can’t because I don’t have time at the moment to type 3 pages. Thank you for the tutorials they have increased my love for quilting. I found you all on you tube about a year and a half ago. Thank you to the Doan children. Many young people coming from a small mid west state would do anything to leave it for the “big city”, you know the grass is always greener. Thank you all for staying and helping to build your parents company. Making your own grass green is better than fertilizing someone else’s grass.

  • Thanks so much for your kind words, Benette. It means so much to us that we’ve been able to stay in Hamilton and make something here. Thank you for enjoying the tutorials, and happy quilting! 🙂

  • Onward Forward
