Thanksgiving Week!

Thanksgiving Week!

Wow, I can’t believe it’s already Thanksgiving week!  There’s just something about knowing I get to eat mashed potatoes and gravy and pumpkin pie that makes me so excited!  Of course, it’s also time for family, friends and remembering all the MANY things we should be grateful for in our lives… like fabric, people who give me fabric, people who understand my love for fabric, sales on fabric… and chocolate!  What are you grateful for this year?

From all of us to all of you, Happy Thanksgiving!

While I’m sure you love Thanksgiving as much as we do, you may be wondering what will be happening for the rest of the week, so here’s a quick overview!

On Black Friday we’re giving away a FREE, GUARANTEED (that means it won’t sell out!) CHARM PACK!  On top of that we’re offering DOUBLE QUILTER’S CASH, 60 Sale Items and MORE!

Thankful for a healthy family, esp my wife’s aunts who showed me how to make a simple nine patch quilt block after my mom passed away and left behind a huge pile of fabric. I’m thankful for Jenny who showed me quilting can be easy even for a beginner like me. Now the possibilities are endless for all mom’s fabric. Believe me, I never thought I would even touch a sewing machine. Now I have my own. Thanks for making it fun and exciting Jenny!

Jenny, I am a very thankful cancer survivor (1 year), who has a wonderful wife who has taught me how to quilt. I have come to realize that quilting is very therapeutic for me. I am going to start quilting lap quilts for people in the infusion room at our local cancer center where I volunteer three days each week. I am not sure you realize how many lives you have touched with your infectious love of quilting and I now have become one of them.

I just have to say that one of the many things I am thankful for is the customer service at MSQC. This past summer a very very dear friend of mine was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I needed a quick quilt for her first chemo, which was just a couple weeks away. I spoke with a wonderful woman in Customer Service and she made sure I had the fabric I needed in time to have the Falling Charms quilt finished for my friend’s first chemo treatment. (to add to the difficulty, all my sewing and quilting equipment except for a small machine were in storage as we waited to close on our new house and were in our motorhome for a few weeks at this time…I made this quilt QAYG and literally used TV trays as my work space! So glad for easy quick tutorials!!) Oh.. and when my friend had her surgery after her chemo, ALL her margins and nodes were NEGATIVE! A miracle. And I like to think that the prayers that went into that Falling Charms quilt had something to do with her success! THANK YOU CUSTOMER SERVICE AT MSQC !!!

  • WT Gregory

Ok, ya’ll. I need some help. My wife started quilting last year, and she loves it. She gets some of the gadgets and gizmos. We saved up and got a “really good” sewing machine this year so she is even more gungho. We have converted a closet into a bolt holder so she can hold all her larger quantities of fabric and converted are smallest room into a quilting room. What would be some good Christmas ideas for, may not the noob of noobs, but still a pretty green quilter? I know she has discussed this sight multiple times. So I am assuming this would be a good place to ask. What are some things that you didn’t realize you loved until you got them? I want to surprise her and as this is so out of my wheel of experience I need help.

    Thanks in Advance,

  • Connie Hazelbaker-Stebbins

If she doesn’t have one, A design wall. I love mine.

Had a lovely thanksgiving with my sisters & family. I was just reading where the Gregory was asking what to get his wife and wonder what advice he received. Even a really nice gift card would be good so she could pick out something for herself if he can’t decide. But starting out there are so many things like a good ergonomic rotary cutter to protect her wrist joint.
