We all have our quirks, but the truth is, creating order out of chaos is the most satisfying feeling in the world. It’s what draws us to quilting and keeps us coming back for more.
This week’s new quilt is made with stacks and stacks of little pieces. This is the kind of project that just melts away my stress. Stitch by stitch, block by block, those pieces come together into a beautiful quilt and I am left feeling peaceful and accomplished and pretty darn proud of myself!

The Jitterbug was one of the most popular dances of the swing era, but how did it get such a funny name? Turns out “jitterbug” is just a combo of two cute little words: jitter and bug. But put ‘em together and you’ve got a name worth remembering!
This week we’re working on the Jitterbug Quilt. And, like it’s namesake, it’s based on two simple little elements: the 4-patch and the half-square triangle. Many years ago, Jenny took her very first quilt class. Even though she was already an accomplished seamstress, quilting seemed a bit daunting. During that class, she learned how to make a log cabin. And when she realized how simple and versatile that little block can be, a fire was lit! Before the class finished, Jenny had completed 12 quilts – and she’s never stopped quilting!
Today’s new quilt is a fun variation of a log cabin quilt!
