New Friday Tutorial: The Sashed Half Hexagon Quilt

I love the way a simple sashing gives each block its own importance. Those little strips of fabric are pretty powerful! But sashing isn’t just for framing blocks; they’re so much more versatile than that! Today we’re adding strips of sashing to half hexies in a classic hexagon braid pattern to create a block as beautiful as a stained glass window!

Something so simple as a sashing creates a completely new look to the familiar Friendship Braid Pattern and this beautiful quilt features Victory Findlay Wolfe’s new fabric line, Mostly Manor! Isn’t it fabulous?

New Friday Tutorial: The Studio Star Quilt

We’ve got a super fun quilt to share with you today. It’s extra special because it happens to be one of Jenny’s very favorites. She even keeps a metal replica of this block on the wall of her sewing studio, so while it’s sometimes known as Sister’s Choice or Father’s Choice, we’re calling our version The Studio Star Quilt. (Yes! Another star quilt! You can never have too many of those!)

New Friday Tutorial: The One Seam Flying Geese Quilt & Advent Wall Hanging

Have you ever drooled over a quilt pattern and then been super discouraged by how much is involved in creating it? Well, I love flying geese, but sometimes I just want something a little simpler, so I am so excited about this method of making a flying geese. You won’t believe how easy it is!

Here’s a basic preview of how to make this amazing block! You’re definitely going to want to watch this one to catch all the details!

Jenny came up with a darling bonus project using this same method! Look at this great holiday wall hanging!

When you sew your flying geese together, it creates little pockets on either side, so Jenny created this Christmas-y layout with 24 pockets that makes a little Christmas Advent Calendar! You could applique some numbers on there and really personalize it to make something really sweet!

We even created some super cute printables to use for the advent for some fun things you can do each day with your family! You can download it here:
