There truly is no place like home. At the end of a long, busy day, I love to crawl under the covers and snuggle up in the familiar coziness of my very own bed.
No matter how hectic it is outside, I always feel peaceful in my home. It’s not fancy, but it’s mine. Today’s new quilt, Flying Home, brings to mind the simple beauty of my very favorite safe haven: home.

Do you have a favorite diamond? There sure are some pretty ones out there, and with names to match! “Amarillo Starlight” is a colorless 16.37 carat diamond that was found by a visitor in Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas in 1972. Over in Australia, “Argyle Pink Jubilee” weighs in at 8.01 carats. And let’s not forget “The 26th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.” (No joke! That’s the actual name of a 343-carat yellow diamond mined in Yakutia, Russia!)
As for me, I prefer the little sparkler that was presented to me by my sweetheart so many years ago, but this week’s Simple Diamond Quilt comes in at a close 2nd! The Simple Diamond Quilt is just what it sounds like. Basic, timeless, and absolutely beautiful!

Fashion is a fickle thing. Just when you get used to the idea of high waists, platform soles, and billowy ruffles, the fashion world has marched on to the next big thing. The good news? If you hold onto that burnt orange double-knit lounge suit long enough, chances are it will come back into style, and your grandkids will be super impressed with your trendy digs! Of course, quilts never go out of style, they just become vintage classics!
