I met a young quilter whose mother was diagnosed with cancer. Right away, this sweet daughter began to put together a special “chemo quilt.” Each of the kids and grandkids contributed a block. The quilt was completed the day before the first treatment, and this brave grandmother was able to face her new journey wrapped in the love of her family.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Jenny designed a gorgeous “From the Heart” quilt. This pretty little heart applique quilt can be personalized with hand-written messages of encouragement of love. It is so fun to put together and makes such a tender gift.
In 2008, the Doan kids asked Jenny to film her first-ever quilt tutorial. Her response? “What’s a tutorial??”
12 years later, Jenny’s videos have been viewed 200 million times and the Missouri Star community has spread across the globe! And you know what? It’s all because of you!
From Iran to Australia to small-town America, we are “Sew Inspired” by your creativity and love!

2020 is the year of staying home. It’s the year of sweatpants and old t-shirts and not knowing if I even own makeup anymore. There’s nowhere to go and no one to impress.
But sometimes I just want to feel fancy. I long for sequins and heels and sparkling diamond earrings. I want to see my husband in a well-tailored tux with patent leather shoes and a dapper bow tie. Is that too extreme for ANOTHER movie night at home? I think not!
This week Jenny is whipping up a quick and easy Bow Tie Party quilt using precut jelly roll strips. These little bow tie blocks are so chic, you’ll be feelin’ fancy in no time!
The Half Hexagon template is no one-trick pony. (Great templates never are!)

And at the end of it all, we’ll have 3 unique quilts AND a bonus table runner! I’d say that’s pretty good for a simple hexi ruler! Click HERE to watch the tutorial!
