When you give the gift of flowers, you’re sending a message – so choose carefully!

Sunflowers symbolize friendship, red roses represent romantic love, and bells of Ireland spread good luck. But a potful of petunias or orange lilies? Well, they pretty much say, “I hate your stinkin’ guts.”

Scallop City Quilt

On the tiny Italian island of Burano, each little house is painted a cheery shade of pink, orange, green…you name it! You can wander every canal and alleyway and not find a single speck of beige; the cityscape is one giant rainbow!

This week Jenny is stitching up a colorful city of her own. Each block resembles a curved scallop, but – you guessed it – it’s all straight seams! Click HERE to watch the tutorial!

Royal Wedding Quilt

On Saturday, May 19, the eyes of the world were fixed on the royal wedding of Britain’s Prince Harry and his lovely American bride, Meghan Markle. But my eyes? They were fixed on that veil!

Royal Wedding Quilt

It was 16.5 feet of flowing silk tulle with hand-embroidered flowers all along the edge: California poppy to represent Meghan’s home, wintersweet to represent the home of her prince, and flowers for each of the 53 countries in the Commonwealth. As you can imagine, it took hundreds of hours to stitch that garden of silk and organza blooms. And since they were working with such delicate, white silk tulle, the veil’s creators paused every 30 minutes to wash their hands. It was truly a masterpiece, but I’m exhausted just thinking about it!

This week’s new quilt, Royal Wedding, is based on the old English Wedding Ring quilt, but it’s so quick and easy, you’ll be well on your way before teatime! Click HERE to watch the tutorial!

River Log Cabin Quilt

Ever heard of diamond rain? Sounds impossible, but lightning storms on Saturn produce thousands of little sparklers every single year! And here on earth, we can get some pretty remarkable precipitation, too. In 1887, giant snowflakes fell on a Montana ranch; one was measured at a whopping 15 inches! It may seem impossible, but “impossible” things happen every day!

River Log Cabin Quilt

This week Jenny is whipping up a little miracle of her own with the River Log Cabin Quilt. Because, while it sounds impossible, when you put together 1.5 inch strips and 2.5 inch strips in just the right way, all those straight lines transform into curves! Daisy Chain Quilt

Daisy Chain Quilt

I always thought the daisy was such a sweet and simple flower, but it turns out I was wrong! The daisy isn’t a flower at all; it’s two flowers! The first flower is made up of the long, white petals we love to pluck while reciting, “He loves me. He loves me not.” The second flower is the cheery yellow center. I guess you could say every bloom is its own bouquet!

Daisy Chain Quilt

In this week’s new tutorial, Jenny combines simple white charms with a pretty roll of 2.5 inch strips, and the results are as sweet as a field of daisies!
