Jenny Doan loves to quilt everywhere she goes: In the studio. On the couch. In waiting rooms and on long drives. (Can you relate?) Life is more fun with a needle and thread in tow!
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Jenny has whipped up a quilt-as-you-go heart quilt using fat quarters and the fabulous Jewel Template. Best of all, these pretty hearts can be sewn by machine or by hand!
Jewel Heart is a great project for long waits and nervous energy, and it makes such a sweet gift, too!
I met a young quilter whose mother was diagnosed with cancer. Right away, this sweet daughter began to put together a special “chemo quilt.” Each of the kids and grandkids contributed a block. The quilt was completed the day before the first treatment, and this brave grandmother was able to face her new journey wrapped in the love of her family.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Jenny designed a gorgeous “From the Heart” quilt. This pretty little heart applique quilt can be personalized with hand-written messages of encouragement of love. It is so fun to put together and makes such a tender gift.
Ribbons have long been used to show support for a cause. Yellow ribbons for military deployment. Purple ribbons for Alzheimer’s disease. Pink ribbons for breast cancer. It’s a simple way to say, “I care!”
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Jenny is ready with a beautiful pink ribbon quilt. Watch the tutorial and follow Jenny’s instructions to make an Easy Ribbon Quilt of your own. Purchase the Easy Ribbon Quilt Kit and we will donate part of the profits to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
(Jenny’s quilt is pink for breast cancer awareness, but this quilt can also be made up in different colors as a tribute other causes. So many possibilities!)
