I love a good template, and when that template can be used to create all sorts of different patterns, it earns top billing in my sewing room!
For this week’s tutorial, Jenny used the Burst Block template—a longtime Missouri Star favorite. This template has been used in many fantastic projects, and the Radiance quilt is a beautiful addition to the collection!
There’s a pretty big football game this week. Best of the season, they say. And while I do enjoy a touchdown or two, those yards of turf just can’t compare to a yard of brand new quilting fabric! So while those football stars are racing to the endzone, I’ll be stitchin’ up a team of my own all stars!
The All Stars quilt is based on a design by Jenny’s cute husband, Ron. It’s a quick, modern pattern that makes use of two of our favorite precuts: 10 inch squares and 2.5 inch strips.
Picture this: It’s September 21, 2018. Quilters from across the globe have gathered in Hamilton, Missouri, for the quilting face-off of the century at our 10th Birthday Bash.
All too soon, the final buzzer sounds. Jenny’s quilt is still in pieces. She is out of time!
Fast forward to today. Jenny’s quilt is finally complete, and it’s a real stunner! (Spoiler alert: Snowballed corners come together as teeny bonus pinwheels! You’re gonna love it!)
Snails come in an amazing variety of sizes. One species is so massive, its shell can be used as a trumpet. Another is tiny enough to fit through the eye of a needle with room to spare!
Just like a real snails, a Snail Trail block can be big or small. And with Jenny’s brand new method (courtesy of quilting friend, Kathy), they’re easier than ever to make! Whether you use 5-inch or 10-inch squares, this easy block is fun and swirly as can be!
Designer Tula Pink knows a thing or two about color. Her solids are delicious shades of “limeade” “persimmon” and “hibiscus.” Best of all? She chose a gorgeously bold fuchsia and named it after herself, Tula Pink! (Now I’m wondering…what color would I pick for my own name?)
