Nothing says summer like a piece of Strawberry Pie!

Nothing says summer like a piece of Strawberry Pie!

I mean really.  I love strawberry pie!  Mom makes this pie, and it is my favorite!!  I am not a huge pie person, but Mom’s strawberry pie, I can not resist!

This week we are extremely lucky to be spending time at the lake.  It’s a family reunion for us. Time to relax,  hang out and just have some fun!!  We have been looking forward to this for months!  Imagine a house full of 18 kids, and 12 adults!  Oh boy!  Adventures will be had, memories will be made!  (and don’t worry, we all brought our sewing machines so we can play with fabric too!)

So, what says ‘Summer’ to you?

Me? Well obviously, it’s strawberry pie and time at the Lake!!

With any luck, the next time I see you I’ll have a little more color on my face and a few more freckles!

Have a good break and time with your family.  You all deserve a long holiday with everything that you have accomplished this year.

  • Mikalsgran

Hope a wonderful time is being had by one and all – you’ve certainly earned it!  The pie looks amazing and delicious – wish I had some.

  • Edandjeanheck

Hope you all have fun and be careful!  No ditch swimming, Jenny!

Summer is here when we have fresh corn, fresh beans and fresh homegrown tomatoes, all cooked together in a pot with a little taste of bacon–it was my mon’s recipe, and we all love it, and make it while the summer crops are coming in full blast.

  • Lea Brummett

Watermelon and corn on the cob!  I love them but the older I get the more they don’t like me!

  • Susan

That pie looks scrumptious!!! I used to make strawberry pie every summer but once my kids left home, I stopped.  Have to resurrect it again!!!

Enjoy an extra piece of pie for me . . . and keep the mosquitos away.  Enjoy the fun time together with family – that’s the best anyone could wish for.

The smell of coconut oil in suntan lotion says summer to me.

My parents bought a boat when I was 13 years old.  I should probably say my father as my mom hated the water.  We went camping and water skiing every year after that.  We’d go whenever we could.

When my sister and I were old enough to work, we usually had to work on weekends.  My father would take his vacation days on Mon/Tues so we would still be able to go to the lake.

We took my 2 sons camping and water sporting when they were as young as a couple months.  As they got older they were each allowed to bring a friend as my sister and I had were when we were younger.

I loved those family times.  I’m 60 now and my dad passed away 6 years ago, but I’ve got some fantastic memories.

Homegrown tomatoes and corn on the cob say summer to me – but a big slice of Jenny’s strawberry pie would be such a treat!!  Enjoy your family time and come home refreshed.  Barb

You need a scoop of Blue Belle’s Summer Strawberry Pie ice cream to go with that.  It’s their new flavor and oh boy…(singing) Heaven!!

Here’s a quilt top I just finished with a MSQC DD - 10 Little Things from Moda by Jenny Ski.  I think the grandbaby will kinda like it.  :0)   I’m off to a local shop today to find a backing and binding.

Enjoy your family.  Those are the times of your life!

I can’t wait to see pictures of the Opening . May I say a admire your work ethic’s.I have one more  creative thing for you to do to spruce up the store front. Barrels or large clay pot s modgpodged with pieces of fabric to look like they are quilts and fill to over flow with plants. Some sweet potato  vines in lt.green and burgundy ,black eyed susans, etc.
A couple of painted benches and voila’ you’ll have a “let’s see what that cute store is” affect.
I want this to be successful for all of you.
I reside on the shore of Lake Erie in Ohio and can not make it but I will be dreaming about it on the 14th of July. Some day. I went to school at Park University in Parkville ,Mo. in the 70′s.    a great fan, Jane

  • Natalie

I can’t believe you would show  us that picture and expect to get by with no recipe.
I am sure you meant to post the recipe…so where is it?
Already I am feeling a bit peaked because I am not at the Lake, not getting any new freckles and now I am have “pie envy”.
Please take pity, oh yea I will take a pity pie.
