Breast Cancer Awareness Quilt from one of you! With the Twister tool!

Breast Cancer Awareness Quilt from one of you! With the Twister tool!

My sister Bell, has breast cancer, it was a shock to us, because there is no cancer in our family. So I made this for her, and it was like therapy for me, to make this. The ribbon would look good in yellow or even with red white & blue.

I got this in an email a few months ago and Ana’s experience really spoke to me.  Quilting is a lot of things to a lot of people, but really often (especially lately it seems) it is my therapy.  It is something that comes from our hands and stands for years as a monument of our efforts, struggles, pain, triumph, friendship, love, and so on.  So thank you Ana for sharing your experience and knowledge with us!   She shared her pattern so you all could have it, feel free to use it and share it around, hope it helps!!

I know I’m coming to the party late but I love this quilt and would like to make it for my friend going through breast cancer treatment but I can’t find the pattern. All I got from the pattern above was the layout for the squares. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day.

I am a “16” Breast Cancer Survivor. Love this quilt.

  • JenniferMSQC

That’s fantastic, Bonny! We’re thrilled that you’re alright (and that you love the quilt).

Hi, I promised a quilt to the local Breast Screening Service and this is the one! Could you please tell me how big to cut the pieces? I have a 4 1/2″ twister. Also, what are the finished dimensions of the quilt? Thanks.

Thank you for the pattern…Going to make one in yellow and gold for childhood cancer. our 10 year old Godson was just diagnosed and just finished round three of chemo. it is apalling how little research funding goes to childhood cancer. Our niece, mother of our Godson will love her own quilt as she freezes at the hospital during her stays with her son.

This twister breast cancer pattern just popped up while revisiting the breast cancer ribbon which I followed with Jenny some time back to make a quilt for a young 29 year old friend who has been having treatment for near on 2 years. Have managed to down load the photo of the twister pattern to excel which listed the number of squares needed in the 3 colours but no size for the twister tool or square size. Would love to know what size the twister tool is and will then follow Jenny on how to use the twister. I live in Australia and this is my only way of communicating. Just love J D’s tutorials.

Does anyone still have the pattern for this? Please email me at thanks so much..

I just love this pattern and would love to make it as a fundraiser auction quilt. Which size twister tool was used a 5″ square or 10″ square? I’m also having a difficult downloading the pattern. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
