Triple Play! Evening Stars, Luminary & Cottage Stars

We’re starting a new tradition here at Missouri Star: Triple Play! Once a month, Jenny, Misty, and Natalie will each demonstrate their own, unique take on a classic MSQC pattern.

Jenny’s Design

First up? Wonky Stars! Jenny incorporates those whimsical stars into a tiny-house table runner.

Misty’s Design

Misty goes country-cozy with a big, traditional quilt featuring 4-patch star centers.

Natalie’s Design

Natalie leans modern with a non-block layout featuring big Wonky Stars!

As always, each of these projects is quick, easy, and fun! Click HERE to choose a favorite!

Bud Bouquet Quilt

My favorite bouquet wasn’t roses or orchids; it was a tiny bunch of clover blossoms gathered by a very special four-year-old. (Oh, how I wished those flowers could last forever!)

This week Jenny is stitching up a bouquet that will bloom for years to come. She starts with simple 9-patches made of half-square triangles—nothing too fancy. But just wait! The real magic happens when they’re set on point! Click HERE to watch!

Mini Rhombus Table Runner Tutorial

Mini Rhombus Table Runner from Missouri Star Quilt Co.

What if quantum physics was as simple as 1-2-3? What if landing a perfect quadruple jump in ice skating was as effortless as rolling off a log? What if stitching an intricate geometric pattern of lil’ fabric diamonds was as quick and easy as…oh wait! Wait a minute!  That actually IS a piece of cake!

Waves Quilt

MSQC New Tutorial on the Blog!
New quilting tutorial with Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company

Waves can be scary. In 1958, a landslide triggered a 1,700+ foot wave in Lituya Bay, Alaska. And here’s the wildest part: A little fishing boat was carried atop that wave, clear up the side of the forested mountains and back. But somehow, the boat, the fisherman, and his 8-year-old son came away completely unscathed!

So, yeah, waves can be super-dee-duper scary. But Jenny’s waves? They’re just fun! Click HERE to learn how to whip up gorgeous, wavy curves using our drunkard’s path template!

Sunshine Lattice Quilt

MSQC New Tutorial on the Blog!

The same tune can be played by a 70-piece orchestra or a honky-tonk band. The melody is identical, but boy, oh boy! It sure sounds different!

The same goes for quilts, you know. This week’s new quilt is classically pretty with the sunflowers of “Jardin Dy Soleil” by Lola Molina for Wilmington Prints. But guess what? If you use solids instead, the pattern instantly becomes fresh and modern! The possibilities are endless! Click HERE to watch the tutorial!
