Time to Sew Quilt

Easy Ribbon Quilt

Ribbons have long been used to show support for a cause. Yellow ribbons for military deployment. Purple ribbons for Alzheimer’s disease. Pink ribbons for breast cancer. It’s a simple way to say, “I care!”

Star Patch Quilt

What makes a sunset so special? I mean, every single night – just like clockwork – that same ‘ole sun sinks below the same ‘ole horizon. So why do we write poems and sing love songs and treasure every last drop of fading sunlight? It’s all in the details!

From the shape of the clouds to the moisture in the air, tiny variations work together to create a show of color and light as magnificent as it is unique! Orange and purple streaks. Dramatic rays of gold. Moody silver and navy blue. You just never know what Mother Nature has up her sleeve!

This week Jenny is working with two ordinary blocks: stars and 4-patches. Nothin’ fancy, nothin’ new. But when she stitches them together “just so,” The results are simply stunning! Click HERE to watch the tutorial!

Royal Wedding Quilt

On Saturday, May 19, the eyes of the world were fixed on the royal wedding of Britain’s Prince Harry and his lovely American bride, Meghan Markle. But my eyes? They were fixed on that veil!

It was 16.5 feet of flowing silk tulle with hand-embroidered flowers all along the edge: California poppy to represent Meghan’s home, wintersweet to represent the home of her prince, and flowers for each of the 53 countries in the Commonwealth. As you can imagine, it took hundreds of hours to stitch that garden of silk and organza blooms. And since they were working with such delicate, white silk tulle, the veil’s creators paused every 30 minutes to wash their hands. It was truly a masterpiece, but I’m exhausted just thinking about it!

This week’s new quilt, Royal Wedding, is based on the old English Wedding Ring quilt, but it’s so quick and easy, you’ll be well on your way before teatime! Click HERE to watch the tutorial!
