WHAT FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE AT THE RETREAT CENTER?
The main floor of the retreat center has a large room that is used for activities and dining, two bathrooms, two guest rooms and a full kitchen. The second floor, accessible only via stairs, has sleeping rooms and bathrooms.
The sewing/activity area can accommodate approximately 40 sewers and sewing machines with two people per table. Each table has its own electrical outlet. We have designated the middle of the room as the dining area. There is also ample space for cutting and ironing.
The two bathrooms on the main level are available for the convenience of retreat participants.
The guest rooms on the main level are for individuals who are unable to navigate the stairs. (See below for more information.)
In addition, there is a full kitchen which includes a sink, microwave, stove, oven, refrigerator and freezer. We also have an outdoor deck off the kitchen at the rear of the building. Guests can access all of these facilities 24 hrs. a day during their stay at the retreat center.
Guests have free access to our wireless network during their stay.
WHAT KINDS OF EVENTS CAN BE HELD THERE?
The retreat center can be used for sewing retreats, crafting retreats, one day events, family gatherings, birthday parties and other types of gatherings.
WHAT KINDS OF EVENTS WILL MISSOURI STAR QUILT COMPANY BE HOSTING AT THE RETREAT CENTER?
Missouri Star Quilt Company will hosting classes, and retreats and will also offer ‘open sewing’ times. The classes and retreats can be from one to five days in length. The center is also available for rent by groups of ten or more. HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN STAY OVERNIGHT AT THE RETREAT CENTER?
The retreat center can accommodate 37 overnight guests when all of the beds are filled to capacity (with two people sharing each queen bed). We have a total of 21 twin beds and 8 queen beds. With the excep- tion of the two handicapped ‘friendly’ rooms on the main level, the sleeping rooms are on the second floor of the facility and are only accessible via stairs. They are configured in several different ways (see listing below). We also have six individual, private bathrooms on the second floor, each with a shower, toilet and sink. These bathrooms are shared by all of the guests on the second floor.
DO YOU HAVE HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE ROOMS?
We have two sleeping rooms, each with a queen bed and shower, toilet and sink, available on the main level of the building that are reserved for those who cannot physically navigate the steps to the second floor. These rooms are not handicapped accessible by ADA standards.
HOW ARE THE SLEEPING ROOMS CONFIGURED?
- 2 rooms with 3 twin beds
- 1 room with 4 twin beds
- 1 room with 5 twin beds
- 2 rooms with 2 queen beds
- 1 room with 1 queen, 2 twin
- 1 room with 1 queen, 4 twin
- 2 rooms with 1 queen (reserved for people who cannot navigate the stairs)
WHAT SIZE GROUP CAN RENT THE FACILITY?
It is possible to reserve the use of the retreat center for groups of 10 or more. We do not have a maximum or minimum limit on the number of nights. If the group has an overnight event and does not fill all the beds, we reserve the right to open enrollment until the facility is at maximum capacity.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Overnight rental includes access to the entire facility 24 hours a day. Fees are assessed per bed as follows
From 1-4 nights:
- Twin beds are $69 per night
- Queen beds are $119 per night (can sleep either one individual or two people at the same rate)
For 5 or more nights:
- Twin beds are $60 per night
- Queen beds are $110 per night (can sleep either one individual or two people at the same rate)
The rental fee for daily use (more than four hours) of the facility is $150. The rental fee for one-half day (less than four hours) is $75. Daily and half-day rentals include access to the large activity space, the community bathrooms on the main floor, the kitchen area and the deck.
DO I NEED TO BRING MY SEWING MACHINE, CUTTING BOARDS AND IRONING SUPPLIES?
You can bring your sewing machine, cutting boards, tools and ironing board if you’d like. We do have a few irons and ironing pads for everyone to share. If you would rather not bring your sewing machine , we do have Baby Lock Melody machines available to use for a $10 per day usage fee. We also have sewing “essentials” kits (cutting mat, rotary cutter, ruler and scissors) available for a $5 daily usage fee. Each of the sewing tables has an outlet, however, we recommended you bring a power strip with you.

CAN JENNY TEACH A CLASS WHEN OUR GROUP IS THERE?
Jenny is available for classes and trunk shows for an additional fee. Availability and scheduling must be confirmed at time of booking.
DO YOU PROVIDE MEALS?
Missouri Star Quilt Company does not provide food. Hamilton has a Subway and Casey’s General Store and the grocery store is steps away from the retreat center.
DO I NEED TO BRING SHEETS AND TOWELS?
The retreat center will provide one set of bedding and towels for all overnight guests during their stay.
DO YOU HAVE A SMOKING POLICY?
Missouri Star Quilt Company Retreat Center is a smoke-free facility. No smoking or other use of tobacco products is permitted in any part of the building. Should smoking occur in the building, individuals will be asked to leave the premises and will be responsible for all costs incurred for professional cleaning services.
MAY WE BRING ALCOHOL?
Although we would prefer that the facility remain alcohol-free, we understand that persons on retreat occasionally like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage at the end of the day. However, we strongly discourage excessive alcohol consumption and reserve the right to remove any guest or group if you are disorderly. A glass of wine won’t get you in any trouble with us, just keep your hat on. 🙂
MAY I BRING MY PET?
Missouri Star Quilt Company is a pet-free facility. Should pets be brought to the facility, the person responsible will be asked to leave the premises and will be responsible for all costs incurred for professional cleaning services. Sorry! No woof no meow.

HOW DO I BOOK A RETREAT FOR MY GROUP?
To book a retreat for your group, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 888 571-1122.
At the time of booking, you will be asked for a 50% deposit. The balance will be due no less than 30 days prior to your scheduled date. Failure to pay this balance in a timely manner will result in a forfeiture of your deposit.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Should you cancel your reservation 60 days or more before to your scheduled date, you have the option of forfeitting 100% of your deposit or using a one-time opportunity to apply one-half of this amount as a deposit for a future date.
Any cancellation that occurs less than 60 days prior to your scheduled date will result in a 100% forfeiture of your deposit.
