Snow and Hot chocolate….

IMG_0855

(of course, a little sewing thrown in with that)

I hope that you have all had a wonderful Christmas.  We are starting to get back into the swing of things here.  We have all had a nice time just relaxing and spending time with family.

When we were kids Mom used to call the week between Christmas and New Years “Christmas Peace”….meaning that all the stress from Christmas was over and she got a week to relax and enjoy.  No stressing about the house or getting the decorations put away (until Jan 1st)  I think it’s a great idea….(except, I just don’t know how to NOT stress about the house.)  I am a crazy person when things are messy!

So, that is what I have been doing…..We got a TON of snow for Christmas and that has helped force us into relaxing.  We’ve gone sledding a few times (cold, but way fun)  and we’ve just been playing games, watching movies and eating.  (of course)

I am almost ready to get back to the daily grind…almost.

We have a lot of new things in the works for 2010 and can’t wait to get it all going.  Have a great day.

We’ll talk soon,   Sarah

The Winner of the Apron Giveaway!

Drum roll please………………………………………….The winner of this adorable, CUTE apron (picked by random.org of course) is Beth.

I’m blogging it. I could really use some help looking cute while I cook!

Congratulations Beth.  Email us your information and we will ship that apron out to you asap!  Winning stuff is so fun, huh!  I hope you love it as much as we do.

I am off to finish my last minute shopping. (i know.  bad, bad, bad)  🙂

Have a great day!

Mmm…Minkee

So, I am seriously in love with minkee.  We have several different packs in the shop (they come in 5″squares and 11″squares)  and we just finished this one into a rag quilt.   Can I just say that this is the softest stuff ever.  I love, love, love  it.  Really.

shop34This  Minkee Tween pack by Benartex comes in pre-cut (my fav) 11″ squares.  (an inch bigger than the layer cake)  We cut flannel into 11″ squares, then paired the two pieces,  sewed diagonally across them and then connected them.  (just your basic rag quilt technique)  At the end of course, we snipped the edges, and came away with the ultra soft perfect for a baby or tween or ME, kind of quilt.

Seriously, it literally took us all of 2 hours to make.  Start to finish!

Baddah-bing.  (if that doesn’t help you in your last minute sewing marathon, nothing will!)    🙂

If you are gonna cook- do it CUTE. (and a giveaway)

You know, that’s my motto.  Whatever you have to do, make the best of the situation…..and we all know that cooking and cleaning  need some serious help in that department.  So why not make yourself look good in the process.  (a cute apron can change a bad attitude in a jiffy)

That is why this Holiday season we are sporting these ultra cute, reversible Christmas aprons.  Oh, Riley Blake…how I love thee.
