Show and Tell!!

I have had so many great emails lately from you quilters, showing off your quilts!  You all have been busy!

First up, is this adorable quilt made by Laurette using Little Apples fabric!!  Adorable!

Cute!

Next up is this super cute one from Suzanne!  She followed a tutorial and made it her own!!  (love that!) Aren’t those little sail boats adorable???

Sail Boats are so much fun!

Next is a dress from one of our local customers, Susan.  She came into the shop on Saturday to show off this adorable dress she is making for her granddaughter!!  (you might have seen me post it on facebook)  Seriously, isn’t it just darling!?  She used HomeTown fabric, by Sweetwater and a flower from basic grey!  (the Pattern number is 6309, Wrights, NEWLOOK, Kids, Bin 103, The pattern includes, a no sleeves, short sleeves, and long, and also a pattern for a matching coat to go with the dress)  Susan did such a great job, lining the whole thing.  It’s just beautiful!  And we can all agree that dresses aren’t the easiest thing to make!  LOL, I will stick with quilts!  🙂

Perfect for an Easter dress!! Love it.

Robin sent me this super cute quilt she made out of  Fiona’s Fancy, by Lila Tueller.  Love it!  She used the double slice tutorial, and I think it turned out great!!  She said that when she makes baby quilts she likes to be sure it’s not too ‘baby-ish’ so it will grow along with them!  It is almost a twin size, so they will be able to use that quilt for a very long time!!  What a great idea!!

Perfect fabric for any age girl! Fiona’s Fancy is just darling!

Last, but certainly NOT least is this quilt, that Barbara made.  She said she made it in two days, using the ‘Stack and Whack‘ tutorial.  This one is a real stunner.  I love that it is only two fabrics and makes such a statement!

Pop-pop-pop! The colors are so fun together!!

Thank you all, so much for taking the time to email your photos of the quilts you made!  It sure means a lot to us.  We love to see what you are making and hear your stories of quilting success!!

Have a great day!!

Jelly Roll Race

The first Friday of every month we have a ‘Friday night Sew’!  Anyone and everyone is invited to come sew with us!  Everyone brings a snack to share and a project to sew.  This week we ‘spiced’ it up a little with a Jelly Roll race!  It was a total blast! The Ladies were crazy and sewed the night away with most everyone finishing a quilt top!  We just love the group of women who come every month and look forward to visiting and catching up with them all.  Such great friendships have been made and  whenever we get together we have a ‘rolling on the floor’-laughing out loud- good time!
Just check out these quilt tops!
The tops were finished in record time {approx. 45 minutes} Amazing!  Some of the fabrics that were used,  Terrain by Kate Spain, Summer House by Lily AshburyDogwood trail by Sentimental Studios, Full Circle by Kathy Schmitz, Kona Solid Dusty Palette, Max and Whiskers by Basic Grey, Butter Cup by Fig Tree and Swiss Chocolate!
The finished size before a border was [approx] 58 X 60  Such a great size for a gift and a fast, easy project!

What we’re working on….

The Grinch meets Kate Spain.  And they got along so well!  🙂  We are putting together a quilt using the Kate Spain Flurry layer cake and one Robert Kaufman ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas’ Fat quarter pack!  We also used both sizes of Natalie’s tumbler templates!  (the 5″ and the 10″)

So, if you have both those templates BE READY!  We will write up the directions and tutorial this baby as soon as we’re done!

Hope you have a marvelous day!  Stay cool!  It has already reached 95 degrees here before 9 am!  HOT~HOT ~HOT~

A project idea and some random..

Have you seen this yet!?!?  I love how it turned out.  Mom will explain how (in the video) easy it was to snowball the SIX inch squares in lights and darks.  Yes, you read that right.  This Charm pack, Amalie designed by Darlene Zimmerman for Robert Kaufman is SIX inches square!  It just amazes me how they look so perfect together, and really with out a lot of thought.  Dang, those designers know what they are doing, huh!

I hope you enjoy this idea.  It would be fun in all sorts of different fabric, so be creative and have fun.

This weekend…what are your plans?  Me…more SNOW around here.  I hope this time the temps will be bearable for us to at least make a few snowmen.  I actually want to make an entire snow family.  (i am crazy like that)   This winter has been so cold that our snow has just been that horrid blizzard-type snow, blowing everywhere and WAY to cold to take the kids out in.  But today we are getting those beautiful, big wet snowflakes.  I love it every time I look out the windows.

I am also planning on a HUGE Super Bowl party….you know, any reason to get together with everyone I am great with!  I love the commercials too, so I am excited about the funny things those companies come up with.  What about you?  What do you have going?
