Hello 2011. We have fun things in store for you.

Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to make more time for quilting & sewing activities? Here at Missouri Star we’ve got some events scheduled to help you out.

We’ve organized a Bus Tour called “These are a Few of My Favorite Shops” for Friday & Saturday, June 3-4th. Traveling in a loop through Northwest Missouri &Southwest Iowa, this tour takes you to charming country shops and is designed to spend more time shopping than traveling. We promise a luxury limo bus ride and wonderful food. Price of the tour is $129 including lodging (double occupancy). Reserve your seat now by contacting – Carolyn@missouriquiltco.com

And if you’ve ever wanted to meet the gang at Missouri Star, watch a Jenny tutorial in person or create a project with her help, we’ve got a series of quilt retreats planned just for you! “These are a Few of My Favorite Precuts” is a series of five retreats to be held during 2011. The first will be Thursday through Saturday, April 14-16 and with a 1930’s Depression Era theme. Space is limited to 20 quilters.   Other retreats are scheduled for the second week of July, August, September and October, each with a different theme and quilting project.

    Sarah,
I really love the dot to dot quilt and wondered what fabric you used for the boarder…was it also in the color line with the charm packs?? I would really like to try making it and also wondering if it would be able to be washed.

  • Sarah

I am not sure which dot to dot quilt you are taking about. However, all of the ones we have made are definitely able to be washed with ease! If you could describe to me the quilt, I'd be able to tell you what fabric we used!! Have a wonderful day!

My friends and I (4 of us) signed up for the bus tour. We are very excited about this. We love quilting together and learning new things. At our last meeting, on Friday, I made 18 yards of bias binding from 1 yard of fabric and only sewing two seams. I used that wonderful bias ruler to mark all the lines and then cut the binding. It was amazing.
