I just cut out the sashing and cornerstones for the Friendship Star quilt last night. I don’t have a very big cutting area – just a table against a wall – and I hate cutting WOF strips as the fabric is hard to line up and cut straight. So for the 172 – 2.5″ squares, I instead cut 12 – 10″ squares, put them on my rotating cutting mat and quartered each one into 4 – 5″ squares, then quartered each of them and voila! Sixteen 2.5″ squares from each 10″ in only six cuts. I stacked the 10″ squares to do four at a time and I was done in no time. If I’d thought of it in time – I’d have cut the 10″ x 2.5″ sashing strips the same way. Just a thought! Love the pattern and your website – thank you!!
