Fat Fabric Friday!

Fat Fabric Friday!

Three days ago officially began the start of Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

Mardi Gras actually started out as a kick off to Lent, the 40 days of penance in-between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday, as the last few weeks of guilt ridden pleasure. In honor of Mardi Gras, I’ve put together a list of the guiltiest quilting pleasures that MSQC carries.

Guilty pleasure Notiont

1. Creative Grids Ruler 6.5 x 24.5 inch 2. Clover Desk Needle Threader 3. Thread Spool USB Port

4. Stella Desk Light 5. All Purpose Bent Scissors 6. MSQC Sticker

7. Olfa Spinning 17″ Rotary Mat 8. Oliso Auto Pro Lift Iron

And of course we need to have fabric on Fabric Friday. Everything below is in the colors of Mardi Gras: purple, gold and green.

Guilty-Pleasure-Fabric

1. Malam Batiks Lagoon Jelly Roll 2. From Outside In Honeycomb 3. Metallic Layer Cake

4. Morning Tides 5. Grace Lavender Fat Quarter 6. Marble Ombre Jelly Roll

Let the fabric fly!

I’m so sorry Katie… But Mardi Gras is over. It ends on Ash Wednesday before Lent starts. Laissez les bons temps rouler!!!!

  • Displaced Cajun

The season officially begins on January 6…the Epiphany and continues until Ash Wednesday (as Shannon said), although most of the celebrations occur during the last two weeks. Fat Tuesday is akin to a grand finale! A final full day of celebration which begins very early in the morning.

Thanks Displaced Cajun and Shannon! This whole time I thought Fat Friday was the beginning of the season! I do want to travel to New Orleans sometime this year, what’s the one place/thing I can’t miss?

I think you have to go to Cafe du monde and have a beignet!!!! I always love the location in the French Market which is also a must see!!! Hope you get to visit New Orleans!!! I got to visit Missouri Star Quilt Co.this weekend and had so much fun!!! We walked around and visited all the quilting stores including the place that does the long arm quilting!!! What a treat…. And everyone was so friendly!!
