A visit from Brazil….

A visit from Brazil….

We are often blessed with visitors (who ‘know’ us from online) and we LOVE it!  We have had visitors from everywhere and it really is such a highlight to our days!!

Bertha contacted us a few months before she would be coming to see if she could spend the whole day at the shop.  We of course, were thrilled.  She wanted help completing her quilt and hoped we could even schedule her in to have it quilted.  Luckily, it all worked out perfectly and we had a lovely day together!

Here is her visit, in pictures!!  Enjoy.  She used Forever Spring fabric and Mom’s pinwheel tutorial!  Isn’t it gorgeous!?

Bertha, we so enjoyed meeting you and spending the day with you!!  Thank you for coming ALL that way to see us!!

Also, just a little reminder…If you are still interested in going on our Bus Trip in June, we have a few seats left!!  Please contact us at: info@missouriquiltco.com

We would love to have you join us (and see our new shop!!)

I´m from Brazil too but not as lucky as Bertha, who was able to spend some time with you. We have a lot to learn about quilting. The good part of it is that we´re clever enough to chose the best teachers! Lol

Hi everyone! Yes, I was very lucky and blessed to be able to spend
the day with the Missouri Star FAMILY. As far as quilting, sewing and learning
experience goes I am sure it was the happiest day ever! I got to check the
whole shop (even saw where they pack and mail all our orders), I got to see all
the fabric I only was able to see online, and I got to watch that big quilting
    machine actually quilting my quilt.

But most important of all I had the chance to meet and spend some
time with the Jenny (she is even funnier and friendlier in person), her
husband, their son and Sarah. They were all very nice to me. I was amazed by
Jenny’s kindness and willingness to help. She explained to me a lot of sewing
details and I felt like I was in one of her videos. She and her husband helped
me complete my FIRST QUILT ever and I will always remember them for doing that
    for me.

Back in Brazil I did the binding (also following Jenny’s instructions – the biding
tutorial) and here there are some pictures so you can see how it looks like now
    that is totally done.

By the way, thanks to everybody for all the complements on my little quilt… it is
nice to know people like something you were not sure you could do it but at the end turned out looking good.

A big THANK YOU for all the MSQC for creating this unforgettable memory!!!

  • Kmwiltgen

Please help. I want to make a king size quilt. Doing a friendship braid out of jelly rolls. How many braids will I need and how long should they be. I am pretty new to quilting and watching a lot of MSQC videos to teach myself how to quilt.
    Thanks,Kelly

  • Sarah

Thank you Barbara!!  We do love you all!!  Your comment has made my day!  Thanks so much for making us smile!

  • Sarah

Bertha, it was truly a wonderful day!! So, so glad you were able to make it out here to visit!!  Hope you have a wonderful day.  Hope you can make it back someday, again!!

  • Sarah

we would love to have you!! Come visit us!

  • Sarah

We would love to have you!  Keep quilting and learning!!

  • AlamoGal

That quilt is gorgeous!  She’s so fortunate y’all had the time.  Jenny, how about a video using the Lil Twister on today’s Daily Deal?  I watched the pinwheel video but would love to see the Twister in action.

    Thanks for all you do!

  • Sarah

Great idea!!  We will have to see if we can!!  Have a wonderful day!

    Dear Kelly,
I usually make quilts to fit my bed, so what I would do is, make a braid the length I need it and that will become your pattern. It will take about 3 jelly rolls to make a king and you can make your sashing as wide as you want it to make up the difference….I hope this helps. Have a great day!
