Show and Tell

So did you just love that tutorial Natalie did on the T-shirt quilt!?!  She is an excellent teacher.   I am so excited that she did it though, because we have had a lot of interest in that technique!

*Remember if you make a quilt {especially one form a tutorial or a pattern we sell, send us a pic!  We LOVE to see what you are doing!!}

So, today I have some GREAT pictures of quilts from none other than YOU!  YOU guys and gals are the best customers/friends a girl could ask for and I’m just thrilled to see what you are all up to.  I have to ask, what is more fun than quilting?  Sharing-showing(off)-oohing-and ahhing over each others quilts/projects, thats what!!!

The first one I want to show you is the DP9 {aka- the dissapearing nine patch-tutorial here} from our friend Donna.

I just love how she used her stash and created a beautiful quilt!!

Next up Carol N. sent me two pictures to share with you!!  Both are gorgeous and amazing!

What a beautiful quilt, right! WOW, the colors are so fun.

Carol used the fabric line Vera’s garden {which we are out of, darn.} and used this tutorial here.

This next quilt she made using the Stars Aligned pattern (one of our FAVORITES!!!) and a Kansas Troubles-Butterfly Garden Jelly Roll. {which we are also out of, darn-it again}  Talk about ‘breath taking’ have a look….

Just stunning! I love it.

Wow, right!  I am just in love with it.  Carol says she added another row to make it a King Size quilt.  {she also used some thimble-berries from her stash for the borders.}

I just want to say a BIG GIANT thank you to you all.  Thanks for sending us the pictures and sharing your experiences, thanks for being loyal-amazing- customer-friends!  We really could’t do it without you all.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.  Stay safe, wherever you are.

I’m crossing my fingers that you get at least a few minutes {hours, really} to sew!

See ya Monday.  {I miss you already}

T Shirt Quilting Made Easy

Hey everyone!!  My brilliant sister Natalie was working on a T-shirt quilt for our sister and she agreed to let us film her teaching how to do what she does, and she does it well!!

A lot of people are nervous or scared of heirloom or keepsake quilting {using things tied to memories in their quilts} but it can be really really easy!  And when you finish, it seriously becomes one of the greatest gifts you’ll ever give!  I promise!

So if you’ve ever wondered about it, in just over 10 minutes you’ll be ready to go.

As for materials you need, I think the only thing she mentioned that might be out of the ordinary quilting supplies is this fusible interfacing –

Fusible Featherweight to Midweight Interfacing Yardage by Pellon SKU# 911FF

Thanks for doing this Nat!!  You are the best!

Riley Blake…

Have you seen some of the new things coming from Riley Blake?  WOW.  They are such a great company to work with and have just taken off in the fabric-design industry.  We are so impressed with their level of quality {both in fabric and as people}

Such a fun group of people to work with.  We couldn’t just choose a few of the lines, so we bought them all.  I know, I know….I really should learn to control myself.  {but for the love of fabric,I just had to!}  We have all the pre-cuts and fat quarter bundles coming and I couldn’t be happier about it!!

They had a wonderful booth and I’m sure you’ve heard by now, that they won the coveted 1st Place  Ribbon!  What a deserving acknowledgment too!  {‘home field’ does have it’s advantages}

Anyway, here are some pics of the booth that mesmerized so many of us!

So hold on to your seats Quilters….we have some AWESOME exciting and new fabric coming!  {hopefully, even as soon as this week!}

I’ll keep you posted.

Have a great Monday.

Also, I can’t blog today without acknowledging our friends in Joplin, MO.  Our prayers are with them and their families affected by the tornadoes.  Stay safe wherever you are.  And thanks to you all for your sweet messages of concern.  We are all safe and sound.

More Quilt Market…

See me up there with Vanessa {V and CO} and Amy {Diary of a Quilter} ?!?!  I ran into them by the Michael Miller booth and couldn’t help myself, I just had to say hi!  Now, can I just say that they are both even sweeter in person than I thought!  It was a quick chit-chat, because well, I already feel like I know them through the blogs.  {know what I mean.}  How funny is that?  We don’t even have to introduce ourselves, we just get right to the “have you decided where you are  moving” blah- blah, blah’s because, we already know what is happening!  Hahah!  Also, I am a HUGE fan of Amy’s and am excited I got to meet her in person!

Now, Jillily’s booth was great!  So cute, in the ‘Ice cream parlor’ theme!  We were so excited, we bought a TON of her new ‘Poke-a-dots’ and can’t wait to share them with you!  We think you will LOVE them. {they are a sticky-reusable thimble.}

So, I am off today to get things ready to drive to the Shop tonight.  I have some major overhauling-redecorating-sprucing up, I am planning for the Shop!  We have so MANY new ideas and plans that we can hardly wait to share with you all!  {squeal-eeek-yay}

Have a great weekend.  {I hope that you get at least a little time to create-sew-or craft}  Whatever you do, be happy.

School-House{s}

One of the highlights of School-House was Sarah Jane’s fabric debut.  {called Children at Play, from Michael Miller} It was definitly the ‘IT’ fabric of Market.  Everyone wants it and loves it.  It is whimsical and adorable and perfect for both boys and girls!  Everything you need for a great children’s line.

Sarah Jane and Sandy Henderson Present their School House! Both had fabulous lines!!
Gorgeous, right!? And this is just a small sample!

Sandy Henderson has a great new line coming out as well called Secret Garden.  Talk about eye candy.  The colors are just beautiful.

I wish that was my living room!! Hahah!

Next up was the Moda designer school house!  Talk about a good time!  Those Ladies know how to have fun!  Each designer made a block and a project to go with their new lines.  It was fun to see what they did (or didn’t do).

The room was packed with people!  Miss Lissa Alexander sure knows how to put together a show.  They were all such a delight to meet and mingle with.  It is just amazing to see so many creative minds work so well together.

How can I get a Market post in and NOT talk about Heather Bailey and Amy Butler?!!?  Not possible.

Heather Bailey has a lot of fun things going on in other industries as well.  Note cards, plates and napkins, tea towels, aprons etc etc.  It will be fun to see how the different industries meet.  Quite exciting, if you ask me.  And guess what!??!?!  She announced in her schoolhouse that she was pregnant!  Yup, Heather Bailey is PREGNANT!!! {she told us even before she told her staff!}  Talk about a scoop, huh!  Congrats Heather!  {btw, she is absolutely adorable and nearly half way through with her pregnancy and you couldn’t even tell she was preggo!}

Anyway, Amy Butler has some fun things happening too.  She is very excited about her new organics line and talked about that as well.  She has some pretty fun patterns coming out too!

Then there was SAMPLE SPREE!  Oh-my-craziness!  Talk about ravenous-hungry-fabric loving- crazy people!  For real!

Can’t wait to show you those pics!
